"Bruce Boxleitner and Will Cullen — Wildest Guys In The West!"
"How The West Was Won," is back as an ABC replacement. It was a mini-series last year that quickly climbed to the top of the Nielson ratings and during that time, Bruce Boxleitner and Will Cullen (who play two brothers on the show) received twice as much fan mail at ABC as either John Travolta or Henry Winkler!
Bruce stars as Luke Macahan, a young man hounded by bounty hunters because of a shooting incident that took place during the Civil War. "I get a reputation as a gun-slinger although I never wanted to become one," says Bruce of his character. "My gunfights are all in self-defense, or from trying to help someone else—a friend or a member of the family," says Bruce.
Will plays his younger brother Josh Macahan. You probably remember him best for his guest appearances as Mackenzie Phillips' boyfriend on "One Day At A Time." Both of them think "How The West Was Won" is one of the finest western series to ever be produced.
Neither Will nor Bruce have let success go to their heads. They're not into "the Hollywood scene" and have not changed their lifestyles since their rise to fame. When asked what kind of person Will is, his agent, Diane Davis, replied, "He's the kind of lad who used to take his late 94-year-old grandmother shopping on Saturday afternoons."
Bruce is the kind of guy who, when telling about his success, fondly remembers, "The time I found this homemade envelope attached to a tiny present and suspended from my backyard gate. It was from a little girl who wanted my autograph. So I wrote it and left it there. The next morning it was gone. To this day I don't know how that little girl managed to sneak into my yard—twice!" Bruce laughs.
Will lives in a small apartment by the beach. He loves to travel and particularly enjoys the show's location shooting in Utah and Colorado. His favorite sports are swimming, surfing, jogging, tennis and above all, horseback riding. Since the series began, Will has become such a good rider, the producers don't have to use a stunt man for his daring adventures.
Bruce also loves riding, and he thinks of himself as a modern-day cowboy: "I'm an avid collector of guns and western memorabilia. The time period really fascinates me," he says. In fact, Bruce is a member of the Buckskinners, a group interested in the West, which goes backpacking and camping with only the tools that were used in the "good old days."
Bruce and Will are the cuties who make the Wild West even wilder! And you can write to there gorgeous guys c/o Tiger Beat STAR!
Thank you, Claudia!
