Center for the
Performing Arts Broadway Ball 2011
Hosted by The Straz Center board of trustees, this black-tie event held in the fall features an elegant dinner of the stage of Carol Morsani Hall and show-stopping Broadway style entertainment -
including Luba Mason.
The funds raised from the Broadway Ball will help the Straz Center enrich the lives of some of Tampa Bay’s most overlooked and at-risk children and families. In this exclusive NYC engagement, "BROADWAY AND BERG", Mr. Berg and friends will recreate well known Broadway showstoppers, sung by the very stars who performed them on Broadway, along with songs from Mr. Berg's musicals of the past, present, and future. This dynamic evening will feature classics from "The Phantom of the Opera", "Les Miserables", and "South Pacific," as well as songs from "The Prince and the Pauper", "The Twelve" (opening at B.B. King's in August), "The Man Who Would Be King," and his upcoming Broadway musical, "Grumpy Old Men." Performing and hosting will be Berg's longtime collaborator, Broadway star Rob Evan* (Jekyll and Hyde, The Prince and the Pauper, Trans Siberian Orchestra), along with Broadway stars Luba Mason (White Noise, Cape Man, Chicago), Rita Harvey (Phantom of the Opera, Fiddler on the Roof), Lawrence Clayton (Les Miserables, Dreamgirls, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Civil War), and William Michals** (South Pacific, Beauty & the Beast), as well nightly special guests. Berg will be the Musical Director and play piano.

NOISE - Royal George Theater, Chicago
Premiering at The ROYAL GEORGE THEATER, Chicago, Ill.
Producer Whoopi Goldberg comments, "WHITE NOISE smacks you in a challenging, emotional and entertaining way".
Luba will be co-starring in this provacative new rock musical that follows a pair of sisters who are discovered by a powerful record producer, and groomed into a well - packaged rock/pop band, which mixes irresistible harmonies with coded rhetoric into chart - blazing hits. Inspired by real ife, WHITE NOISE fuses today's headlines and blogs into a cautionary tale that challenges conventional notions of free speech, media and the power of pop culture.

||Luba Mason in Pandora's Box - review:
"... played by Luba Mason, who seizes the stage at the top of Act 2 and gives a knockout performance of the show's one memorable song, "One Great Love." With this cliché cameo, Mason manages to convey a fully rounded character deserving of our invested concern."
